Techniques used with SNPhysio:

Manipulation

Passive movement of structures (joints, soft tissue) applied by the therapist. This can involve traction, compression, assisted movement to facilitate release of blockedmovement.

Mobilisation

Treatment technique used to manage musculoskeletal dysfunction. Therapist applies pressure where necessary to increase movement of structures that are stiff.

Soft tissue release

Pressure is applied through hands, elbows & feet in the form of massage, to release pressure points & break down tension in the muscles, tendons and ligaments.

Muscle Balancing technique

Assessing body dysfunction due to coupling of an overactive muscle against an underactive muscle. Imbalance is improved through exercise and stretching.

Posture re-education

Adjusting the body’s correct alignment and providing information of how to engage the correct muscles to prevent poor postural habit.

Strapping/Taping
